Nancy Mozzachio Files Lawsuit Against Cedar Realty’s CEO

Nancy H. Mozzachio, former Chief Operating Officer of Cedar Realty, filed a case against Bruce Schanzer CEO for pay discrimination and sexual harassment charges. It will now be all up to a Brooklyn judge to either proceed the lawsuit or not.

Based on the lawsuit Nancy Mozzachio filed on November 2 to CEO Schanzer, she says that she finds Schanzer always leering at women as well as making comments that are not appropriate to them while in the workplace. Aside from calling Nancy Mozzachio ‘babe’, Schanzer also commented about her breast. After bringing on her desk a coffee cup from Dunkin Donuts, she claimed that he made a comment about bringing some double Ds to work. Moreover, she says that Schanzer has been giving here some groping hugs that are just uncalled for.

According to Nancy H. Mozzachio, when she files a pay disparity and sexual harassment lawsuit, she was fired by the company as a result. Come February 2016 when she was done getting some outside help for the sexual harassment case she was filing against the Cedar’s CEO, she was then terminated for her job. Come the following week where her meeting was canceled, she was then terminated.

During the year 2015 when an external investigator decided to probe on the allegations, Cedar Realty then decided to start investigating on the matter. Even if these investigations were being done by the company, Nancy Mozzachio says that the investigator always stepped back when they were allegations of sexual harassment to Schanzer by the female employees. There is even one employee that went to the Wall Street Journal to tell them to report about her being asked by Schanzer what color her underwear is. So that investors will not be taking back their money from the company, these complaints are silenced as per Mozzachio by paying by payroll the complainants.

Nancy Mozzachio has basically become a success in this company. She has made her way to the top as being the chief operating officer in the year 2014 after she has become the director of leasing and vice president of leasing in the years 2003 and 2004, respectively. Based on her lawsuit, she mentions that even if she is supposed to get higher compensation than the CFO as being the COO, she was being paid lower salary as well as a small bonus than the chief operating officer. Of course, for Cedar Realty, they are not true and are very much satisfied that after the board has done their investigations, the allegations were of no merit.

Nancy H. Mozzachio is still coming back for more after this denial. Until this day, she will fight for what is right and in providing female employees a safer place to work in.
